What is 'Health Coaching' & How is it used to

Health Coaching is similar to other kinds of coaching, except that it deals with issues for and about your body and overall health.
If you want to lose weight and be healthier, and you are committed to making some major lifestyle changes to get there, then Trillium's Cognitive Behavior Health Coach can guide you to your goals.
Trillium's Health Coaches will apply their extensive knowledge and skills to help you mobilize internal strengths and external resources to bring about sustainable change that improves on your weight loss outcome.
Our Health Coach will make it easy for you to follow through with your personalized Nutrition Program.

Our Health Coach will Help You to:
Identify why you are overeating or continuing other unhealthy patterns.
Set realistic and attainable goals that creates momentum but also sustainability.
Learn the difference between emotional and physical hunger.
Develop healthy habits such as regular sleep, food preparation, and scheduling time to exercise.
Learn how to stay motivated and push through setbacks or challenges.
Learn other healthy coping skills such as deep breathing and mindfulness.
Learn how to change unhealthy behavior and thinking patterns.
Learn how to identify triggers of overeating and how to prevent them in your life.
Learn to reach out for help and create a supportive network.
Feel understood but also challenged to be the best you can be.
How Do I work with the Health Coach?
Following program enrolment, your Health Coach will contact you by telephone to conduct a confidential interview and help you prepare to follow your Nutrition Program.
Follow up consultations are provided by phone or Skype and you can book appointments using the private message board available in your Health Resource Centre.
Consultations are usually 15 minutes but can be longer depending on your needs and progress.
Together, you'll outline the steps you'll need to take in order to achieve your goals.You will then work hand-in-hand with your Health Coach to define your goals and identify the challenges that could stand in the way of following your personalized Nutrition Program and reaching your weight loss goal.
Your Health Coach will offer continued support and guidance along the way and hold you accountable for achieving your weight loss goal.
Changing Your Emotional Dependence
Quite often, weight gain comes from comforting yourself with food.
Your Health Coach will work with you to understand why you eat the way you do, and what you can do to positively change your relationship with food.
Understanding why you eat the way you do is an essential component for learning how to keep your weight off after you lose it.
